The annual Asia Food Expo is ongoing! It will be held this year from Sept. 6-9 from 11 am to 7 pm at the World Trade Center, Pasay City. It is said to be the Philippines largest food and beverage industry exhibition. Last year's expo featured over 500 exhibitors.The Asia Food Expo is:
- The 10th International Exposition On Specialty Foods, Delicatessen, Confectionery, Beverages, Beers, Wines & Spirits
- The 15th International Exposition on Food Processing, Packaging and Handling Machinery, Equipment and Technology
- The 10th International Food Franchising and Business Systems Exposition
- The 6th International Exposition On Foodservice, Catering Systems, Supplies, Equipment and Technology

How is it Nena?
It was okay actually, I wasn't sure what to expect since this was my first food fair but I was quite disappointed. I thought there would be more FOOD! It was mostly industrial-sized baking and cooking machinery, and if you didn't own a catering or restaurant business, most of it wouldn't interest you. I did enjoy it anyway, because a lot of it was so new to me. I especially loved those 10kg mozzarella blocks (youll see in the pic i just posted) that reminded me of pillows and made me want to lay my head on it. I did a lot of taste-testing which is always good. :)
That was EXACTLY my reaction to the recent World Food Expo. I thought I'd be happy to walk around for at least 2 hours, but I was bored after less than one. It seems to cater just to people in the industry. But, yes, the taste tests were fun. :-)

Damn, I didn't know about this. I went to a similar food expo last year at the Mega Trade Hall in Mega Mall...loved the free "taste tests." Virtually libreng merienda. :-D
