My Yogyakarta on Lifestyle Asia Travel

LAS_junejuly

Yay yay, another published article! I am extra thrilled this time because like my last article on Santorini, this one also made it to the cover! This time I wrote about Yogyakarta in Indonesia and the temples of Borobudur and Prambanan. It was an experience I won't soon forget, and I hope I did it justice.

I love this issue (Lifestyle Asia Travel, June/July) because it is the Asia issue, so you can expect lots of breathtaking pictures and alluring descriptions of places in our own backyard and in neighboring countries. My favorite is the very comprehensive feature on Macau written by my friend Pierra and photographed by her husband Toto. I was not planning a return to Macau in the near future but that's changed now, thanks to them.

YAY for you! I'll get a copy for sure. Your Borobudur photos are stunning, and I'm sure your words are equally (if not more) so. :-)

Congrats. When are you coming to Penang?

Wow, congratulations! I've always wanted to write about my travels (which is why I just started my own travelog).

Yogyakarta is a great destination. Borobodor (spl?) exudes such a different and unexplainable epic feeling. It's just sad that the surrounding villages are so poor

I haven't visited your blog in such a long time. Still enjoying reading them. You could say that I'm new to blogging while everyone's a pro already. Anyway, thanks for sharing your trip.

Thank you for returning to my blog, Divina. I was just thinking how much I missed blogging, and how much backlog I have which is so overwhelming but I need to start sometime. :) Welcome to blogging! You'll find that it's quite fun and you get to meet such interesting people through it.

Dr. Davon, thank you for your comment! It's nice to know my posts remind people of their love for travel. :)

Thank you, Monica! And welcome to my blog. :)

Thanks, Mr. Whattaworld (love your nickname!)! :) Yogyakarta should be on every traveler's list for sure.

Thanks Pinay! I'm glad at least someone loves my job. haha But no, I'm not a professional travel writer. I have a desk job, in a cubicle farm, in an enclosed office. But I'm not complaining! :)

Hi Eibee! So sorry I overlooked your comment. A travel blog is a great way to start. :) I wish I had started one or a travel journal long ago when I traveled Europe, etc. Now I only have some photos to remind me aside from (very) fond memories. Eventually someone may discover your blog and ask to publish some of your stories, Good luck with that! :)

Thanks, Bee!! Penang is on my list for the next year! I was supposed to go last November as you know, but ended up staying in KL with a daytrip to Malacca. I'll definitely contact you when plans are set. :)

From the quiet sunset on Dal Lake in Srinagar to the thrilling rush of white water rafting adventure sports of Gulmarg, Kashmir has a plethora of unforgettable experiences to offer to the traveler. In fact, the beauty of Kashmir can be summarized into three distinct categories, the foothill plains of Jammu, the beautiful lakes and valleys of Kashmir (Gulmarg, Sonmarg, Pahalgam, Srinagar etc) and the magnificent mountains of Ladakh and Leh. This is the reason we offer tour packages encompassing these three distinct regions of Kashmir. Kashmir is also a holy land with pilgrims visiting the Amaranth Siva-Linga made of ice and also the Vaishno Devi temple pilgrimage. Therefore, if you are a pilgrim to Kashmir, you should choose the tour package that takes you on your pilgrimage.
