Hi, my name is Christine and I'm a delinquent blogger

I'm really so sorry for neglecting my blog for as long as I have (more than a month already!). But between work, 2 new projects outside work, a friend visiting from the US and other stuff, I haven't had as much free online time as I used to. I always get home too late or too tired to do more than check email or new photos or friends' updates on Facebook, if I even turn on my laptop at all. I know I'm the one missing out since I don't even get to visit my favorite blogs anymore. Sorry guys, I haven't forgotten you! In fact I miss your posts and I promise to be back for a visit real soon. :)

Another reason I've been extra-busy this past week is that I'm preparing for an upcoming month-long trip. The first half of the trip is a 2-week holiday that will have me visiting one of my favorite cities in the world once again (SF), and from where we kick-off our road-trip along the Pacific Northwest towards Vancouver (another favorite city), with stops along the Oregon Coast, Portland and Seattle along the way.

I'm so psyched about the trip, as you might imagine, because aside from the fact that I love roadtrips, I'l be visiting with my sister and her family in Vancouver!! The last time I did that was back in '96 when I lived with them for 3 months. Twelve years is just too too long, this is a long overdue trip. :)

I'm going to try something new, blogging on the road. I know, I know. You're probably thinking, yeah right! She can't even blog regularly at home. And I share your skepticism, trust me! So while I say I'm going to try, I'm not making any promises. I just think it would be a great idea to post while the experience is still fresh and I don't forget any important details. And most imporantly, I won't be so overwhelmed with processing all the photos and info when I get back home a month later. So wish me luck and have a little faith! :)

Also, if you have any recommendations for favorite places in SF, Portland, Vancouver, and also NY & VA ,where I may be going for work in the latter part of the trip, I'd very much appreciate it!

(I had meant to post about my trips to Xiamen and Dumaguete plus a few food posts before leaving, but because I didn't I'll have to save it for another time. To those of you who still take the time to visit my blog, thank you for being so patient with me! :) )

I hear you! I haven't had time for regular updates as well (this is what I get for having 5 blogs! >_<)

But yay for trips! I'm looking forward to reading your upcoming adventures in North America :D

Hi Mieke, I'll do that as soon as I have the details. :) Would be so nice if we could hook up!

Haha, I don't know how you do it Nina! I can barely keep up with my own blog much less that of others, but five of your own?! Now I have to check that out, I think I only know 3. :)

Hi Dee! Thanks so much for the recos. Great tips! I've been to most and plan to return to some (especially ferry bldg market!). Half Moon Bay is where I fulfilled one of my dreams - riding a horse on the beach. Haha. So it will always be memorable to me. :)

Thanks, Jo, for being the best online buddy and a super everything-else buddy there is! Mwah! I'll miss you! Please let me know if there's anything I can get you from there. :)

I was excited to see your blog highlighted on Bloglines -- yay! New post! And I'm super excited for your posts on the road...or after you get back, whichever happens. ;-) I hope you have a dreamy vacation and a fun, fun road trip. Eat lots (don't forget the maple-bacon doughnut in Seattle!) and tell us all about it!

Oh, if there's anything better than going on a road trip it's sharing with someone going on a road trip! Mobile blogging! Eat well, buy loads of books and interesting stuff for your balikbayan box and see you in September!

when in seattle, try to do the "ride the ducks" tour. also, seafair's pista sa nayon is happening on july 27th, at seward park, seattle.

is your sister at vancouver, washington or vanvouver, b.c.?

i'm in the seatac area, right by the airport --- let me know if you have time to have coffee at starbucks :)

Thanks, Didi. I arrived in SF last night and already woke up with a slight hangover (!) but enjoying all the catching-up with friends! They're taking me to the beach and to their favorite oyster place today, can't wait! :)

Thanks, Marvin! Will really try my best to blog as often as I can while I'm here. :) I need to catch up with your posts too! I never got around to apologizing to you for not making it to the dinner and meeting you and your family. Something came up that I just couldn't squeeze my way out of. :(

Thank you, Dyanie! I'll be uploading pics on Facebook for sure! It's so easy to do and so fast that I won't have a problem doing that regularly. :) Take care!

You have a good point there, Mila! :) Speaking of books, I just opened my first batch of (6) books I ordered from Amazon and had delivered here to my friends house. There's another 5 in the office and well of course those I plan to buy at Powell's! Oh the joy of balikbayan boxes!! :)

Omg milkphish, that's the coolest thing! An amphibious tour! I doubt we'll have time for that though, since Seattle is just a quick lunch stop at Pike's Place before we continue on to Vancouver. BC which is where my sister lives. But thanks so much for the tip! :)

Hi Christine - this is your number one lurker and co-delinquent blogger from New Zealand, now back in North Carolina eating grits and Bojangles. I recently resurrected my blog and renamed it. I really missed your blogs and was wondering where you were...hope your vacation is a blast. Looking forward to read about it soon. Any chance to swing by NOrth Carolina, since I'm no longer in New Zealand?? Cheers...

christine said...

Thanks,Oggi! :) I don't know yet which part of VA, but when I do I'll let you know!

Thanks Mj! But as you can see, I haven't had the time nor the energy to do so yet. But I hope to real soon! :)

Hi Oonsky! Oh wow you moved?! I'll have to check out your new blog. Thanks so much for stopping by and letting me know. :)

Hi Christina!! I'm so sorry about the huge delay in replying to you. I really don't have any valid excuse for that. Anyway, while I was in Canada, I was informed about the change of plans re my work schedule in the US. The trips to NJ and VA were cancelled, it's a long story and involved some unfortunate incident on a coworkers part. So I worked out of SF and San Mateo the rest of the time. Hopefully it won't be long before I tell you once again that I'm heading your way. :) Thanks girl!
